Having great hair doesn’t require much effort but it does require consistency! Whether your hair is short, medium, or long, these tips will give you great results. Ya’ll know hair health has been a focus of mine for the last 2 years and I’m proud to say that I have achieved great results by doing all of what I’m about to share with you!! Short hair is a thing of the past and extensions are just too expensive! Let’s get healthy hair the natural way. Smooth, silky, shiny, knot-free, split-end-free, faster-growing hair is in your future. Let’s get into it!!
1. Hair Towel
The difference between your normal bath towel and a hair towel is the texture of the material. A hair towel is typically made of microfiber and helps to absorb moisture more quickly. This softer fabric protects the hair from breakage that results in split ends! The turban-style hair towels are the best because of their shape. I recommend these!
2. Silk Pillowcase
If you’re new here, I talk about silk A LOT! The pillowcase, though, is probably in my top 3 favorite things I own. Silk and satin are similar and if you’re on a budget, I’d say start with satin. If you’re ready to take the plunge, go for these LilySilk zip-up pillowcases. While you sleep, the silk provides less friction on your hair, which also prevents breakage!

3. PH Balancing Shampoo
I’m not going to get super nerdy on this one BUT if you have ever washed your hair with a shampoo that makes your hair feel instantly difficult to run your fingers through while lathering and sort of feels drying – it’s the wrong PH for your hair! Using the wrong PH shampoo will result in your hair overproducing oils, causing your hair to get greasy more quickly. You can make this into an experiment and get PH Test Strips and start testing your haircare products. Hair has a natural PH range of 4.5-5.5 You’ll be surprised what you find out!
4. Quality Conditioner
A good quality conditioner is super important! It’s also best to use a silicone conditioner/mask every so often too. Wait… did she say silicone?? GASP! But really…. for some reason marketing has led us to believe that silicone products are bad for us when actually it can be very beneficial to our hair! Silicones act as a barrier to environmental factors like UV rays and changes in temperatures. Products with silicone can help to seal in moisture, smooth, and reduce frizz. Some negatives of using silicone can be the buildup of heavier silicones and greasiness. So those products should be washed out within 1-2 days or only applied below the roots/scalp. This is my ride or die conditioner!
5. Wet Brush
If you don’t have a wet brush yet, I’m assuming you live under a rock! The brand Wet Brush has specific patented bristles that make detangling a lot easier. That sounds like an ad, LOL, but I promise I’m just a true fan! I’m an evening shower-er and this brush is designed to be used on wet hair. LOVE. IT.
6. Vitamins and Minerals
Vitamins are super important for healthy hair! Many people first think of a supplement like biotin or collagen when it comes to hair, both of which are super helpful for hair growth! But for maximum healthy hair longevity, your best bet is to eat foods with B12, B7, B6, folate, iron, zinc, copper, vitamins A, C, D, E, and omega-3. Think eggs, avocado, nuts, liver, and yogurt.
Doing things the natural way is always a great habit, but sometimes we need a little extra boost for faster results! Professional treatments are definitely something you should invest in. Even if it’s just every 6 months, getting a treatment, like Keratin, will help your hair in the long run! However, if you are experiencing hair loss there is a treatment called Micropigmentation. Over at Picasso Scalp Micropigmentation Austin, Texas, men and women of all ages can achieve a fuller-looking head of hair with this cosmetic procedure. Using microdot tattoos, your head is given the appearance of healthy hair follicles in the pattern of a regular hairline. Depending on the severity of your baldness you can sometimes choose a new hairline. Be sure to look into this incredible micropigmentation in Austin, Texas if you’re needing to boost your confidence.
Believe it or not, stress has a huge impact on hair growth, strength, and shine. Make sure you are filling yourself up with daily positivity! Easier said than done at times though. Having an outlet for stress is so mandatory these days. Whatever you love to do to decompress, do that! Enjoy a bath, maybe paint, do yoga, or a good ol’ sweaty workout. Our bodies can show stress in many different ways, so it is important we listen to what it’s telling us.
